Lancashire
The county of Lancashire is in the North West of England and borders with the Irish Sea. Lancashire is
a commercial and industrial region but there are still many places of interest.
Seaside towns Blackpool, Morecombe and St. Annes can be found on the coast. Liverpool on Merseyside were the
world famous Beatles came from still hosts the Cavern where the Beatles first played.
The city of Manchester is in Lancashire, home to the footballin rivals Manchester United and Manchester City.
Other places of interest are: Darwen Tower, Camelot Theme Park, Lancaster Castle, West Pennine Moors, National
Football Museum and Rufford Old Hall.
Lancashire delicacies include: Lancashire Hotpot, Black Pudding, Eccles Cakes, Black Peas, Fish and Chips,
Frumenty, Rag Pudding and Scouse.
My favourite Lancashire destination is Blackpool. I've been there for hen nights, days out, weekends and full
weeks and every time I've found something different to do and thoroughly enjoyed myself. You can find more
information in the articles below and in the free downloadable Blackpool travel guide.
